NCBI Description

HLA-DQB1 belongs to the HLA class II beta chain paralogs. This class II molecule is a heterodimer consisting of an alpha (DQA) and a beta chain (DQB), both anchored in the membrane. It plays a central role in the immune system by presenting peptides derived from extracellular proteins. Class II molecules are expressed in antigen presenting cells (APC: B lymphocytes, dendritic cells, macrophages). The beta chain is approximately 26-28 kDa and it contains six exons. Exon 1 encodes the leader peptide, exons 2 and 3 encode the two extracellular domains, exon 4 encodes the transmembrane domain and exon 5 encodes the cytoplasmic tail. Within the DQ molecule both the alpha chain and the beta chain contain the polymorphisms specifying the peptide binding specificities, resulting in up to four different molecules. Typing for these polymorphisms is routinely done for bone marrow transplantation. [provided by RefSeq]

Product Notes

The HLA-DQB1 hla-dqb1 (Catalog #AAA673638) is an Antibody produced from Rat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rat Anti-Mouse MHC Class II-FITC reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's MHC Class II can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry. Research Application(s): Complement-dependent cytotoxicity assays Flow Cytometry Suggested Dilution: <=1 ug/10^6 cells. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the HLA-DQB1 hla-dqb1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MHC Class II, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
