Specificity
Human CD5
CD5, a member of the scavenger receptor superfamily of cell surface receptors, is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein whose ligand is CD72. It is expressed on most thymocytes, all mature T cells, and a subset of B cells (B-1 cells). CD5 plays a role in regulation of T cell activation and signaling.1-5
Form/Format
Fluorescein (FITC) Conjugate
Applicable Applications for anti-CD5 antibody
Flow Cytometry, Immunohistochemistry (Frozen sections), Western lotting, Immunoprecipitation
Application Notes
Flow Cytometry: 20 uL/10^6 cells
Characterization
To insure lot to lot consistency, each batch of product is tested by flow cytometry to conform to the characteristics of a standard reference reagent.
Warning
Reagents contain sodium azide which is very toxic if ingested or inhaled. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Wear eye or face protection when handling. If skin or eye contact occurs, wash with copious amounts of water. If ingested or inhaled, contact a physician immediately. Sodium azide yields toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide-containing compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in lead or copper plumbing.
Preparation and Storage
The fluorescein (FITC) conjugate is supplied as 100 tests in 2.0 mL of PBS/NaN3 and a stabilizing agent. Store at 2-8 degree C.

Uniprot Description

CD5: a surface glycoprotein expressed on T cells and B-1 B cells. Rapidly recruited to the immunological synapse, lowering the response of the T cell antigen receptor. CD5 interacts with CD72/LYB-2. Promotes B-cell survival through stimulation of autocrine IL-10 production. Contains 3 SRCR domains.

Product Notes

The CD5 (Catalog #AAA670206) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Mouse Anti-Human CD5-FITC reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD5 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry, Immunohistochemistry (Frozen sections), Western lotting, Immunoprecipitation. Flow Cytometry: 20 uL/10^6 cells. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD5 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD5, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
