Highly Purified
Chromatographically purified (97% by RP-HPLC, FPLC, or reducing/non-reducing SDS-PAGE Silver Stain).
Form/Format
Supplied as a lyophilized powder in 40% mannitol, 30% HSA.
Sequence
The sequence of the first five N-terminal amino acids was determined and was found to be Met-Ala-Pro-Ile-Ser.
Biological Activity
rHuIL-22 is fully biologically active when compared to standard. The Biological Acitivity was determined by the ability to activiate STAT following receptor ligand interaction.

< 0.1ng/ug
Reconstitution
Reconstitute with sterile 18MO-cm H2O to a concentration > 100ug/ml.
Preparation and Storage
Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile dH2O and store at -20 degree C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Related Product Information for IL22 active protein
Human IL-22 Interleukin-22 (IL-22), also known as IL-10-related T cell-derived inducible factor (IL-TIF) was initially identified as a gene induced by IL-9 in mouse T cells and mast cells. Human IL-22 cDNA encodes a 179aa residue protein with a putative 33aa signal peptide that is cleaved to generate a 147aa mature protein that shares ~79% and 22% aa sequence identity with mouse IL-22 and human IL-10, respectively. The human IL-22 gene is localized to chromosome 12q15. Although it exists as a single copy gene in human and in many mouse strains, the mouse IL-22 gene is duplicated in some mouse strains including C57B1/6, FVB and 129. The two mouse genes designated IL-TIFa and IL-TIFb, share > 98% sequence homology in their coding region. IL-22 has been shown to activate STAT-1 and STAT-3 in several hepatoma cell lines and upregulate the production of acute phase proteins. IL-22 is produced by normal T cells upon anti-CD3 stimulation in humans. Mouse IL-22 expression is also induced in various organs upon lipopolysaccharide injection, suggesting that IL-22 may be involved in inflammatory responses. The functional IL-22 receptor complex consists of two receptor subunits, IL-22R (previously an orphan receptor named CRF2-9) and IL-10Ra (previously known as CRF2-4), belonging to the class II cytokine receptor family.

Recombinant Human IL-22 is a single, non-glycosylated homodimeric polypeptide chain containing 2 x 146aa and having a total Mr 33,607D.

Product Notes

The IL22 il22 (Catalog #AAA650292) is an Active Protein and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The amino acid sequence is listed below: The sequence of the first five N-terminal amino acids was determined and was found to be Met-Ala-Pr o-Ile-Ser. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Interleukin 22, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
