NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene contains SAM, ARF-GAP, RHO-GAP, ankyrin repeat, RAS-associating, and pleckstrin homology (PH) domains. In vitro, this protein displays RHO-GAP and phosphatidylinositol (3,4,5) trisphosphate (PIP3)-dependent ARF-GAP activity. The encoded protein associates with the Golgi, and the ARF-GAP activity mediates changes in the Golgi and the formation of filopodia. It is thought to regulate the cell-specific trafficking of a receptor protein involved in apoptosis. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Uniprot Description
Function: Phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-trisphosphate-dependent GTPase-activating protein that modulates actin cytoskeleton remodeling by regulating ARF and RHO family members. Is activated by phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-trisphosphate (PtdIns(3,4,5)P3) binding. Can be activated by phosphatidylinositol 3,4-bisphosphate (PtdIns(3,4,5)P2) binding, albeit with lower efficiency. Has a preference for ARF1 and ARF5
By similarity. Ref.1
Subunit structure: Interacts with TNFRSF10A. Ref.11
Subcellular location: Cytoplasm. Golgi apparatus › Golgi stack membrane; Peripheral membrane protein. Cell membrane. Note: Associated with Golgi stacks in resting cells. Throughout the cytoplasm and in surface protrusion in cells that are in the process of attaching to a surface and spreading. Ref.1 Ref.11
Tissue specificity: Detected in heart, skeletal muscle, spleen, kidney, liver, placenta, lung, peripheral blood leukocytes, adrenal gland, bone marrow, brain, lymph node, mammary gland, prostate, spinal cord, stomach, thyroid and trachea. Ref.1
Sequence similarities: Contains 1 Arf-GAP domain.Contains 4 PH domains.Contains 1 Ras-associating domain.Contains 1 Rho-GAP domain.Contains 1 SAM (sterile alpha motif) domain.
Sequence caution: The sequence BAA34502.2 differs from that shown. Reason: Erroneous initiation. The sequence BAD92710.1 differs from that shown. Reason: Erroneous initiation.

Product Notes
The ARAP1 arap1 (Catalog #AAA647344) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The ARAP1 (Arf-GAP with Rho-GAP Domain, ANK Repeat and PH Domain-containing Protein 1, Centaurin-delta-2, Cnt-d2, CENTD2, KIAA0782) reacts with Bovine, Canine, Human, Mouse, Porcine, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ARAP1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC). Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunocytochemistry. Dilution: ELISA: 1:32,000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ARAP1 arap1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ARAP1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
