Related Product Information for anti-FBN2 antibody
Fibrillins are structural components of 10-12 nm extracellular calcium-binding microfibrils, which occur either in association with elastin or in elastin-free bundles. Fibrillin-2-containing microfibrils regulate the early process of elastic fiber assembly. Regulates osteoblast maturation by controlling TGF-beta bioavailability and calibrating TGF-beta and BMP levels, respectively.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a component of connective tissue microfibrils and may be involved in elastic fiber assembly. Mutations in this gene cause congenital contractural arachnodactyly. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Function: Fibrillins are structural components of 10-12 nm extracellular calcium-binding microfibrils, which occur either in association with elastin or in elastin-free bundles. Fibrillin-2-containing microfibrils regulate the early process of elastic fiber assembly. Regulates osteoblast maturation by controlling TGF-beta bioavailability and calibrating TGF-beta and BMP levels, respectively

By similarity.

Subcellular location: Secreted › extracellular space › extracellular matrix.

Involvement in disease: Arthrogryposis, distal, 9 (DA9) [MIM:121050]: A form of distal arthrogryposis, a disease characterized by congenital joint contractures that mainly involve two or more distal parts of the limbs, in the absence of a primary neurological or muscle disease. DA9 is a connective tissue disorder characterized by contractures, arachnodactyly, scoliosis, and crumpled ears.Note: The disease is caused by mutations affecting the gene represented in this entry. Product Notes

The FBN2 fbn2 (Catalog #AAA647086) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Fbn2 (Fibrillin-2, Fbn-2) reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Fbn2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA). Suitable for use in ELISA. Dilution: ELISA: 1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the FBN2 fbn2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Fbn2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
