NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene was originally identified as an ovarian tumor antigen monitored in ovarian cancer. The encoded protein contains a B-box/coiled-coil motif, which is present in many genes with transformation potential. It functions as a specific autophagy receptor for the selective autophagic degradation of peroxisomes by forming intracellular inclusions with ubiquitylated autophagic substrates. This gene is located on a region of chromosome 17q21.1 that is in close proximity to the BRCA1 tumor suppressor gene. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants. Uniprot Description
NBR1: Acts probably as a receptor for selective autophagosomal degradation of ubiquitinated targets. Homooligomer and heterooligomer. Interacts with TRIM55. Interacts with SQSTM1, titin/TTN, RNF29, USP8, SQSTM1, MAP1LC3A, MAP1LC3B, MAP1LC3C, GABARAP, GABARAPL1 and GABARAPL2. Binds to ubiquitin and ubiquitinated proteins. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Ubiquitin conjugating system
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 17q21.31

Product Notes
The NBR1 nbr1 (Catalog #AAA6428269) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The NBR1 (Next To BRCA1 Gene 1 Protein, Neighbor Of BRCA1 Gene 1 Protein, Membrane Component Chromosome 17 Surface Marker 2, M17S2, MIG19, 1A1-3B) (Biotin) reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's NBR1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunofluorescence (IF), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoprecipitation (IP). IF: 1:50-1:100 WB: 1:500-1:2000 IHC: 1:50-1:200 IP: 1:20-1:50 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NBR1 nbr1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "NBR1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
