Related Product Information for anti-GLB1 antibody
This gene encodes beta-galactosidase-1, a lysosomal enzyme that hydrolyzes the terminal beta-galactose from ganglioside substrates and other glycoconjugates. Defects in this gene are the cause of GM1-gangliosidosis and Morquio B syndrome. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

NCBI Description

encodes a PII protein that may function as part of a signal transduction network involved in perceiving the status of carbon and organic nitrogen. Forms a protein complex with N-acetylglutamate kinase and regulates the kinase activity by relieving the feedback inhibition of the kinase by arginine. Regulates acetyl-CoA carboxylase activity.

Uniprot Description

Function: Participates in sensing carbon and organic nitrogen status and regulates some steps of primary carbon and nitrogen metabolism. Required for nitrite uptake in chloroplasts and regulates arginine biosynthesis through interaction with acetylglutamate kinase (NAGK) in chloroplasts. Regulates fatty acids synthesis in chloroplasts by interacting with the acetyl-CoA carboxylase complex and inhibiting acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACCase) activity. Ref.1 Ref.6 Ref.8

Subunit structure: Homodimer. Interacts with NAGK. Interaction with NAGK is dependent of MgATP and inhibited by 2-oxoglutarate, arginine, glutamate, citrate, and oxaloacetate. Ref.7 Ref.10

Subcellular location: Plastid › chloroplast Ref.1 Ref.7.

Induction: By light and sucrose. Down-regulated by treatment with amino acids. Ref.1

Disruption phenotype: No visible phenotype under normal growth condition, but increased sensitivity to elevated levels of nitrite. Ref.6

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the P(II) protein family.

Product Notes

The GLB1 glb1 (Catalog #AAA641604) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The GLB1, NT (GLB1, ELNR1, Beta-galactosidase, Acid beta-galactosidase, Elastin receptor 1) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GLB1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in Western Blot, ELISA Dilution: ELISA: 1:1,000 Western Blot: 1:100-500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GLB1 glb1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GLB1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
