NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
acts as a transcriptional repressor of the steroidogenic acute regulatory (StaR) protein; decreases SREBP-1a binding to a sterol regulatory element [RGD]
Uniprot Description
YY1: a polycomb-group (Pc-G) protein essential for early mammalian development and the regulation of X-inactivation and certain imprinted genes. Required for the transactivation of TSIX by CTCF. The complex of CTCF-YY1-TSIX is a critical regulator of the X chromosome binary switch. Can function as an activator or a repressor depending on the presence of other proteins. For example it acts as a repressor in absence of adenovirus E1A protein but as an activator in its presence.
Protein type: Transcription factor; C2H2-type zinc finger protein; Cell development/differentiation
Cellular Component: transcription factor complex; nuclear matrix; cytoplasm; PcG protein complex; nucleus
Molecular Function: protein binding; DNA binding; four-way junction DNA binding; sequence-specific DNA binding; RNA binding; histone deacetylase binding; metal ion binding; SMAD binding; transcription factor activity
Biological Process: anterior/posterior pattern formation; transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; RNA localization; camera-type eye morphogenesis; regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; spermatogenesis; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; negative regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; response to DNA damage stimulus; chromosome organization and biogenesis; double-strand break repair via homologous recombination; response to UV-C

Product Notes
The Yy1 yy1 (Catalog #AAA632300) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Transcription Factor YY1 (DELTA, NF-E1, UCRBP, Yin Yang 1) reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Transcription Factor YY1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Gel Shift Assay (GS/EMSA). Suitable for use in Dot Blot and Western Blot. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Yy1 yy1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Transcription Factor YY1, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
