NCBI Description

GTP-binding proteins, or G proteins, constitute a superfamily capable of binding GTP or GDP. G proteins are activated by binding GTP and are inactivated by hydrolyzing GTP to GDP. This general mechanism enables G proteins to perform a wide range of biologic activities.[supplied by OMIM, Jan 2003]

Uniprot Description

GTPBP2: Belongs to the GTPBP1 GTP-binding protein family. Up-regulated by IFNG/IFN-gamma in human monocytic cell line THP-1. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 6p21

Cellular Component: intracellular membrane-bound organelle

Molecular Function: GTPase activity; protein binding; GTP binding

Product Notes

The GTPBP2 gtpbp2 (Catalog #AAA6304999) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The GTPBP2, CT (GTPBP2, GTP-binding protein 2) (APC) reacts with Human, Hamster, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GTPBP2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), FLISA, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western Blot (WB). FC/FACS: 1:10-50 FLISA: 1:1,000 IHC: 1:50-100 WB: 1:100-500 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GTPBP2 gtpbp2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GTPBP2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
