Related Product Information for anti-CHGA antibody
c Kit, also known as CD117 and stem cell factor receptor, is a 145kD transmembrane tyrosine kinase encoded by the c Kit proto-oncogene. c Kit acts to regulate a variety of biological responses including cell proliferation, apoptosis, chemotaxis and adhesion. Ligand binding to the extracellular domain leads to autophosphorylation on several tyrosine residues within the cytoplasmic domain, and activation. c Kit mutations correlate with tumor growth and progression in a variety of cancers including mast cell disease, gastrointestinal stromal tumor, acute myeloid leukemia, Ewing sarcoma, and lung cancer. Phosphorylation at tyrosine 936 of c Kit allows binding of Grb2 and activation of the Ras, Raf, ERK1&2 signaling pathway.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the chromogranin/secretogranin family of neuroendocrine secretory proteins. It is found in secretory vesicles of neurons and endocrine cells. This gene product is a precursor to three biologically active peptides; vasostatin, pancreastatin, and parastatin. These peptides act as autocrine or paracrine negative modulators of the neuroendocrine system. Other peptides, including chromostatin, beta-granin, WE-14 and GE-25, are also derived from the full-length protein. However, biological activities for these molecules have not been shown. Uniprot Description

CHGA: a member of the chromogranin/secretogranin family of neuroendocrine secretory proteins. It is found in secretory vesicles of neurons and endocrine cells and is a precursor to multiple biologically active peptides including vasostatin, pancreastatin, and chromostatin. Binds calcium with a low-affinity. Vasostatin negatively regulates angiogenesis and has antibacterial activity against some Gram-positive bacteria. Pancreastatin inhibits glucose induced insulin release from the pancreas. Chromostatin inhibits catecholamine release from chromaffin cells.

Protein type: Vesicle; Cell adhesion; Secreted, signal peptide; Secreted

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 14q32

Cellular Component: perinuclear region of cytoplasm; extracellular region; secretory granule

Product Notes

The CHGA chga (Catalog #AAA626610) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CD117, phosphorylated (Tyr719) (c-kit, Stem Cell Factor, SCF Receptor, Steel Factor Receptor, Mast Cell Growth Factor, MGF) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD117 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA). Suitable for use in ELISA. Dilution: ELISA: 1:64,000, peptide coated at 100ng/well. Other applications not tested. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CHGA chga for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD117, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
