Suitable for use in Western Blot.
Immunogen
A synthetic peptide mapping to the C-terminus of isoform 5 of human quaking homolog according to entry AAH19917.1 (GeneID 9444). The epitope is not found in isoforms 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7 or 7B according to TrEMBL entries Q9P0Y1, Q9P0Y0, Q9P0X6, Q9P0X8, Q96PU7, Q969L9 and Q96PU6, respectively.
Preparation and Storage
May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

NCBI Description

QKI belongs to a family of RNA-binding proteins that have an HNRNPK (MIM 600712) homology (KH) domain embedded in a 200-amino acid region called the GSG domain. Other members of this family include SAM68 (KHDRBS1; MIM 602489) and SF1 (MIM 601516) (Chen and Richard, 1998 [PubMed 9671495]). QKI proteins regulate RNA splicing, export of target RNAs from the nucleus, translation of proteins, and RNA stability (Lauriat et al., 2008 [PubMed 17918747]).[supplied by OMIM]

Product Notes

The QKI qk3 (Catalog #AAA625921) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The QKI (Quaking Isoform 1, QK1, QKI1, Hqk, HQK1, Quaking Homolog, Quaking Homolog KH Domain RNA Binding, Quaking Protein) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's QKI can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in Western Blot. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the QKI qk3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "QKI, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
