Supplied as a sterile-filtered lyophilized powder in 0.5X PBS, pH 7.4, 0.1% sodium azide. When reconstituted in sterile water to a concentration of >0.2mg/ml the antibody is stable for at least six weeks at 2-4 degree C.
Application Notes
Suitable for use in ELISA.
Dilution: ELISA: > 0.5ug/ml using 100ul/well detects of 0.2-0.4 ng/well of recombinant hFGF-16.
Western Blot: 0.1-0.2ug/ml detects hFGF-16 in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents. The detection limit for recombinant hFGF-16 is 1.5-3.0ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.
Immunogen
Highly purified recombinant hFGF-16 (human Fibroblast Growth Factor-16)
Preparation and Storage
May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. FGF family members possess broad mitogenic and cell survival activities, and are involved in a variety of biological processes, including embryonic development, cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth and invasion. The rat homolog is predominantly expressed in embryonic brown adipose tissue and has significant mitogenic activity, which suggests a role in proliferation of embryonic brown adipose tissue. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

FGF16: Plays an important role in the regulation of embryonic development, cell proliferation and cell differentiation, and is required for normal cardiomyocyte proliferation and heart development. Belongs to the heparin-binding growth factors family.

Product Notes

The FGF16 fgf16 (Catalog #AAA625511) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Fibroblast Growth Factor 16, Recombinant, Human (FGF16) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the FGF16 fgf16 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Fibroblast Growth Factor 16, Polyclonal Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
