NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a large, transmembrane receptor protein which may function in angiogenesis, lymphocyte homing, cell adhesion, or receptor scavenging. The protein contains 7 fasciclin, 15 epidermal growth factor (EGF)-like, and 2 laminin-type EGF-like domains as well as a C-type lectin-like hyaluronan-binding Link module. The protein is primarily expressed on sinusoidal endothelial cells of liver, spleen, and lymph node. The receptor has been shown to bind and endocytose ligands such as hyaluronan, low density lipoprotein, Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, and advanced glycosylation end products. Supporting its possible role as a scavenger receptor, the protein has been shown to cycle between the plasma membrane and lysosomes. [provided by RefSeq]
Uniprot Description
STAB2: Phosphatidylserine receptor that enhances the engulfment of apoptotic cells. Hyaluronan receptor that binds to and mediates endocytosis of hyaluronic acid (HA). Acts also, in different species, as a primary systemic scavenger receptor for heparin (Hep), chondroitin sulfate (CS), dermatan sulfate (DS), nonglycosaminoglycan (GAG), acetylated low-density lipoprotein (AcLDL), pro-collagen propeptides and advanced glycation end products (AGE). May serve to maintain tissue integrity by supporting extracellular matrix turnover or it may contribute to maintaining fluidity of bodily liquids by resorption of hyaluronan. Counter receptor which plays an important role in lymphocyte recruitment in the hepatic vasculature. Binds to both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and may play a role in defense against bacterial infection. The proteolytically processed 190 kDa form also functions as an endocytosis receptor for heparin internalisation as well as HA and CS.

Product Notes
The STAB2 stab2 (Catalog #AAA612583) is an Antibody produced from Sheep and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Stabilin 2 (FEEL-2, HARE) (Biotin) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Stabilin 2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Western Blot: This antibody can be used at 0.1-0.2ug/ml with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect human Stabilin-2. The detection limit for rhStabilin-2 is approximately 10 ng/lane under non-reducing and reducing conditions. In this format, this antibody shows less than 1% cross-reactivity with rhStabilin-1., Optimal dilutions should be determined by each laboratory for each application. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the STAB2 stab2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Stabilin 2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
