Specificity
Recognizes both native and heat denatured human collagen type I. No crossreactivity with albumin fractions of human serum or albumins of other animal species. Less than 5% binding to collagens II and III in ELISA, RIA or immunoblotting.
Purity/Purification
Purified by ammonium sulfate precipitation and chromatography on DEAE-cellulose.
Form/Format
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2. No preservative added. No stabilizing proteins added. Labeled with R-Phycoerythrin (PE).
Applicable Applications for anti-Collagen Type I antibody
ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Frozen
Application Notes
ELISA: Apparent binding constant from titration curves is approximately 0.1nM. Suitable for use in sandwich ELISA for specific determination of collagen I, employed as either a capture antibody or as a second, detecting antibody.
IHC-F: 10-20ug/ml. Formaldehyde fixation is not recommended. Not suitable for use on paraffin embedded sections. Staining of 10um thick cryostat sections fixed with acetone or ethanol. Staining is similar to that for polyclonal antibodies to interstitial collagen I.
Does not work with Western Blot.
Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
Immunogen
Human Collagen Type I.
Conjugate
PE
Preparation and Storage
Store product at 4 degree C in the dark. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4 degree C for 12 months after receipt as an undiluted liquid. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: PE conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.

Product Notes

The Collagen Type I (Catalog #AAA6125785) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Collagen Type I (PE) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Collagen Type I can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Frozen. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Collagen Type I for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Collagen Type I, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
