Preparation and Storage
Store product at 4 degree C if to be used immediately within twoweeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezingand thawing and store at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable at -20 degree C for12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior toimmediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vialafter thawing and prior to removing the cap.

It is galactose-specific, with strong anti-T-antigen activity.T-antigen is present in many glycoconjugates such as M and Nblood groups, gangliosides, and many other soluble andmembrane-associated glycoproteins and glycolipids. PNA doesnot agglutinate normal human erythrocytes, but stronglyagglutinates neuraminidase-treated red blood cells. Thepresence of Ca2+ can enhance the binding of PNA to receptors.A sialo GM1 ganglioside is also thought to be a major cellsurface receptor for PNA. PNA is useful in normal and tumortissue determination for transitional mucosa malignancies.
