Related Product Information for anti-C-rel antibody
The REL gene encodes c-Rel, a transcription factor that is a member of the Rel/NFKB family, which also includes RELA (MIM 164014), RELB (604758), NFKB1 (MIM 164011), and NFKB2 (MIM 164012). These proteins are related through a highly conserved N-terminal region termed the 'Rel domain,' which is responsible for DNA binding, dimerization, nuclear localization, and binding to the NFKB inhibitor (MIM 164008) (Belguise and Sonenshein, 2007 [PubMed 18037997]).

Uniprot Description

REL: a proto-oncogenic transcription factor of the nuclear factor-kappaB (NFkB) group. There are five NFkB proteins in mammals (RelA/NFkB-p65, RelB, c-Rel, NF-_B1/NFkB-p105, and NF-_B2/NFkB-p100). They form a variety of homodimers and heterodimers, each of which activates its own characteristic set of genes. May play a role in differentiation and lymphopoiesis.

Protein type: Transcription factor; Oncoprotein

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2p13-p12

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; transcription factor complex; cytosol

Molecular Function: protein binding; chromatin binding; transcription factor activity

Biological Process: I-kappaB kinase/NF-kappaB cascade; positive regulation of I-kappaB kinase/NF-kappaB cascade; positive regulation of interleukin-12 biosynthetic process; transcription, DNA-dependent; response to cytokine stimulus; cytokine production; innate immune response; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; negative regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; inflammatory response

Product Notes

The C-rel rel (Catalog #AAA6121320) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The C-rel (REL, Proto-oncogene c-Rel) (FITC) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's C-rel can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, FLISA, Western Blot (WB). FLISA: 1:1000 WB: 1:120-1000 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the C-rel rel for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "C-rel, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
