NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes the D4 subtype of the dopamine receptor. The D4 subtype is a G-protein coupled receptor which inhibits adenylyl cyclase. It is a target for drugs which treat schizophrenia and Parkinson disease. Mutations in this gene have been associated with various behavioral phenotypes, including autonomic nervous system dysfunction, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and the personality trait of novelty seeking. This gene contains a polymorphic number (2-10 copies) of tandem 48 nt repeats; the sequence shown contains four repeats. [provided by RefSeq]

Product Notes
The DRD4 drd4 (Catalog #AAA610068) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Dopamine Receptor, D4, aa176-185 reacts with Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Dopamine Receptor, D4, aa176-185 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in Western Blot, ELISA and Immunohistochemistry., Recommended Dilutions:, Immunohistochemistry: 1:10,000 stains specific cells in various regions of PLP fixed rat brain sections This includes the glomeruli of the olfactory bulb, staining of cortex layer 4 and dendritic staining in cortex layers 2 and 3. In layer 5 of the cortex, apical dendrites of many neurons were stained. In the hippocampus, diffuse immunoreactivity was observed in the molecular layer of the dentate gyrus, with fine dots associated with many neurons in the granule cell layer., Western Blot: 1:500 using whole rat brain homogenate produced a band at ~48-53kD., Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher., Storage and Stability:, Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degree C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degree C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS, 10mg/ml BSA. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degree C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the DRD4 drd4 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Dopamine Receptor, D4, aa176-185, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
