Related Product Information for anti-TENM1 antibody
Teneurin-1(also Ten-m1, tenascin-M1, and Ten-m/Odz1) is a 250-300kD member of the tenascin family, teneurin subfamily of transmembrane (TM) molecules. It is a covalently-linked homodimer that is expressed in both embryonic and adult neurons, among which are cerebellar granule cells and CA2 pyramidal hippocampal neurons. Teneurin-1 appears to promote neurite outgrowth and mediate cell-to-cell adhesion via homophilic interactions. Human teneurin-1 is a 2725aa type II TM glycoprotein. It contains a 324aa cytoplasmic region (aa1-324) that contains an NLS (aa62-65), plus a 2380aa extracellular domain (ECD). The ECD possesses eight sequential EGF-like domains (aa528-796), five NHL repeats, each of which form a b-propeller (aa1194-1524), and 23 YD/TyrAsp-containing repeats that bind carbohydrates. Cleavage at the N-terminus generates an initial 65kD membrane-spanning fragment, followed by TM cleavage that generates a 45kD cytosolic fragment. C-terminal cleavage generates a short 5kD 41aa peptide (aa2682-2722) termed TCAP-1 that shows bioactivity. One splice variant shows a deletion of (aa1232-1239). Over (aa1-317, human Teneurin-1 shares 96% aa identity with mouse Teneurin-1.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the tenascin family and teneurin subfamily. It is expressed in the neurons and may function as a cellular signal transducer. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009]

Uniprot Description

ODZ1: May function as a cellular signal transducer. Belongs to the tenascin family. Teneurin subfamily. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The TENM1 tenm1 (Catalog #AAA6006788) is an Antibody produced from Sheep and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Teneurin-1 (Ten-1, Tenascin-M1, Ten-m1, Protein Odd Oz/ten-m homolog 1, ODZ1, TNM1) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Teneurin-1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Dilution: Direct ELISA: 0.5-1ug/ml Western Blot: 1ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TENM1 tenm1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Teneurin-1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
