Intended Uses: Pre-titrated Reagent Kit for human MCP-1 contains calibrated MCP-3 standards and pre-titrated capture and detection antibodies for quantitative measurement of human MCP-3 in biological samples by enzyme-linked immunoassay (ELISA). An assay protocol is provided with the kit to use the reagents in 96-well ELISA format. It is recommended to dilute all reagents according to this manual. The reagents can also be used with 384-well ELISA plate and optimized for use in other type of immunoassays!!Background/Introduction: Macrophage/monocyte chemotactic protein-3 (MCP-3), like other two closely related chemokines (MCP1 and MCP-2), is chemotactic to monocytes, but not to neutrophils. MCP-3 showed 78% sequence homology with MCP-1 and 58% sequence homology with MCP-2. The primary receptor for MCP-3 is D6. MCP-3 also competes with MCP-1 to bind to CCR10, and competes with Rantes and MIP-1alpha?to bind to CCR1. MCP-3 stimulates macrophage to secrete proteases. A variety of cancer cell lines express MCP-3, suggesting a role in tumor invasion and metastasis.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a cell surface membrane protein of the immunoglobulin superfamily. This protein is expressed in pro-B-cells and is thought to play a role in their differentiation. In mice, expression of this gene is induced in the thymus when anti-CD3 antibodies are injected and large numbers of thymocytes undergo apoptosis. Mice deficient for this gene bred on a BALB/c background developed dilated cardiomyopathy and died from congestive heart failure. These studies suggest that this gene product may also be important in T cell function and contribute to the prevention of autoimmune diseases. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Inhibitory cell surface receptor involved in the regulation of T-cell function during immunity and tolerance. Upon ligand binding, inhibits T-cell effector functions in an antigen-specific manner. Possible cell death inducer, in association with other factors.

Product Notes

The Human PD-1 pdcd1 (Catalog #AAA590082) is a DIY ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA590082 DIY ELISA Kit recognizes Human PD-1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PD-1, DIY ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
