Related Product Information for anti-TLR2 antibody
Toll-like receptors (TLR) are highly conserved throughout evolution and have been implicated in the innate defense to many pathogens. In Drosophila toll is required for the anti-fungal response, while the related 18-wheeler is involved in antibacterial defenses. In mammals, TLR identified as type I transmembrane signaling receptors with pattern recognition capabilities, have been implicated in the innate host defense to pathogens. TLR2 has been identified as a receptor that is central to the innate immune response to lipoproteins of Gram-negative bacteria, several whole Gram-positive bacteria, as well as a receptor for peptidoglycan and lipoteichoic acid and other bacterial cell membrane products. A functional interaction between TLR2 and TLR6 in the cellular response to various bacterial products has been discovered. The currently accepted paradigm regards TLR2 as an essential receptor for many eubacterial cell wall components, including lipoproteins and peptidoglycan. Bacterial species as diverse as mycobacteria, spirochetes, mycoplasma, Staphylococcus aureus, and Streptococcus pneumoniae have all been shown to mediate cellular activation via TLR2 (CD282). The TL2.3 monoclonal antibody is specific for human TLR2 (CD282). TL2.3 is useful for studies on the role of TLR2 as a pattern recognition receptor in microbial products induced cytokine production by TLR2 bearing cells such as human peripheral blood mononuclear cells. The monoclonal antibody TL23 is cross reactive with canine TLR2.

Product Notes

The TLR2 (Catalog #AAA584870) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The TLR2, Human, mAb TL2.3, biotinylated reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TLR2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), Immunoassay (IA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Frozen, Immunofluorescence (IF), Functional Studies (FS). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TLR2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TLR2, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
