Related Product Information for anti-TIM-4 antibody
Product Description: The monoclonal antibody Kat5-18 recognizes T-cell immunoglobulin and mucin domain containing molecule (TIMD-4, also called TIM-4). TIMD-4 is a type I transmembrane protein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily, containing one Ig-like V-type (immunoglobulin-like) domain. TIMD-4 is expressed in Mac1+ cells in spleen, lymph nodes and fetal liver. TIMD-4 binds apoptotic cells by recognizing phosphatidylserine via its immunoglobulin domain. TIMD-4 in fibroblasts enhanced their ability to engulf apoptotic cells. TIMD-4 is involved in regulating T-cell proliferation and lymphotoxin signaling. TIMD-4 and TIMD-1 are phosphatidylserine receptors for the engulfment of apoptotic cells, and are also involved in intracellular signaling in which exosomes are involved. The monoclonal antibody Kat5-18 blocks the engulfment of apoptotic cells by thymic macrophages.

Product Notes

The TIM-4 (Catalog #AAA584355) is an Antibody produced from Armenian hamster and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The TIM-4, Mouse, mAb Kat5-18 reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TIM-4 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), FS, Immunoassay (IA), Immunofluorescence (IF). Application Use: For flow cytometry, dilutions to be used depend on detection system applied. It is recommended that users test the reagent and determine their own optimal dilutions. The typical starting working dilution is 1:50. For functional studies, in vitro dilutions have to be optimized in user's experimental setting. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TIM-4 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TIM-4, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
