Biological Significance
Cyclin E is a regulatory subunit of cdk-2 and controls G1/S transition during the mammalian cell cycle. Multiple isoforms of cyclin E are expressed only in tumors but not in the normal tissues, suggesting a post-transcriptional regulation of cyclin E. In vitro analyses indicated that these truncated variant isoforms of cyclin E are able to phosphorylate histone H1. Alterations in cyclin E protein have been implicated as indicators of worse prognosis in various cancers.
Cross-Reactivity
Mouse
Biohazard Information
This product contains sodium azide as preservative. Although the amount of sodium azide is very small appropriate care must be taken when handling.
Immunogen
Cyclin E antibody was raised in rabbit using a synthetic peptide derived from the c-terminus of human cyclin E as the immunogen.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C.

Uniprot Description

CCNE1: a member of the highly conserved cyclin family, whose members are characterized by a dramatic periodicity in protein abundance through the cell cycle. Cyclins function as regulators of CDK kinases. Forms a complex with and functions as a regulatory subunit of CDK2, whose activity is required for cell cycle G1/S transition. Accumulates at the G1-S phase boundary and is degraded as cells progress through S phase. Two alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.

Product Notes

The Cyclin E ccne1 (Catalog #AAA535355) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Cyclin E antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Cyclin E can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Kinase Assay, Western Blot (WB). WB: 5-10 ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Cyclin E ccne1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Cyclin E, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
