Biological Significance
Cingulin is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CGN gene. Cingulin is specifically localized at tight junctions in epithelial cells, unlike ZO-1, which is also detected at adherens-type junctions in non-epithelial cells. During early Xenopus embryo development, cingulin is detected at a cortical localization, and then accumulates at apical junctions, unlike ZO-1 and other junctional proteins, that are targeted to the new regions of cell-cell contact via the lateral domain.
Cross-Reactivity
Bovine, frog, human, mouse
Immunogen
Cingulin antibody was raised in mouse using a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues 4-24 of cingulin as the immunogen.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C.

Product Notes

The CGN cgn (Catalog #AAA531532) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Cingulin antibody reacts with Bovine, Frog, Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Cingulin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Formalin/Paraffin, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CGN cgn for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Cingulin, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
