Related Product Information for anti-Hamartin antibody
In complex with TSC2, inhibits the nutrient-mediated or growth factor-stimulated phosphorylation of S6K1 and EIF4EBP1 by negatively regulating mTORC1 signaling. Seems not to be required for TSC2 GAP activity towards RHEB. Implicated as a tumor suppressor. Involved in microtubule-mediated protein transport, but this seems to be due to unregulated mTOR signaling.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a growth inhibitory protein thought to play a role in the stabilization of tuberin. Mutations in this gene have been associated with tuberous sclerosis. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2009]

Uniprot Description

TSC1: tuberous sclerosis protein 1 (TSC1). May have tumor suppressor activity. Together with tuberin (TSC2), inhibits mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR)-mediated signaling to eukaryotic initiation factor 4E-binding protein 1 (4E-BP1) and ribosomal protein S6 kinase. Regulated by the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/Akt pathway and phosphorylation of tuberin. Phosphorylated by cyclin-dependent kinase 1/cyclin B during the cell cycle.

Product Notes

The Hamartin tsc1 (Catalog #AAA4757332) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Hamartin Rabbit pAb reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Hamartin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin (IHC-P), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunofluorescence (IF), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). WB: 1:1000-1:5000 IHC: 1:50-1:200 ICC/IF: 1:50-1:200 FC/FACS: 1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Hamartin tsc1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Hamartin, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
