Related Product Information for BTN1A1 elisa kit
Intended Uses: The kit is a sandwich enzyme immunoassay for in vitro quantitative measurement of BTN1A1 in human tissue homogenates and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to BTN1A1. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody preparation specific to BTN1A1. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain BTN1A1, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm +/- 10nm. The concentration of BTN1A1 in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

Butyrophilin is the major protein associated with fat droplets in the milk. It is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. It may have a cell surface receptor function. The human butyrophilin gene is localized in the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I region of 6p and may have arisen relatively recently in evolution by the shuffling of exons between 2 ancestral gene families [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

May function in the secretion of milk-fat droplets. May act as a specific membrane-associated receptor for the association of cytoplasmic droplets with the apical plasma membrane (). Inhibits the proliferation of CD4 and CD8 T-cells activated by anti-CD3 antibodies, T-cell metabolism and IL2 and IFNG secretion ().

Product Notes

The Human BTN1A1 btn1a1 (Catalog #AAA450421) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA450421 ELISA Kit recognizes Human BTN1A1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Butyrophilin Subfamily 1, Member A1 (BTN1A1), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
