Goat AGXT Polyclonal Antibody | anti-Agxt antibody
Goat anti-AGXT (rat) Antibody
Western Blot: Preliminary experiments gave an approx.22kDa band in Mouse and Rat Liver lysates after 0.1ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated size of 43.4kDa according to Rat NP_085914.1. The 22kDa band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes alanine-glyoxylate aminotransferase, which catalyzes the interconversion of L-alanine and glyoxylate to pyruvate and glycine. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been found for this gene. The longer transcript variant includes an upstream translation start codon and a downstream translation start codon. The upstream start codon initiates the translation of the mitochondrial enzyme precursor while the downstream start codon initiates the translation of the peroxisomal enzyme (see PMID:2332438). Uniprot Description
AGXT: Defects in AGXT are the cause of hyperoxaluria primary type 1 (HP1); also known as primary hyperoxaluria type I (PH1) and oxalosis I. HP1 is a rare autosomal recessive inborn error of glyoxylate metabolism characterized by increased excretion of oxalate and glycolate, and the progressive accumulation of insoluble calcium oxalate in the kidney and urinary tract. Belongs to the class-V pyridoxal-phosphate-dependent aminotransferase family.
Protein type: Mitochondrial; Transferase; Amino Acid Metabolism - alanine, aspartate and glutamate; Amino Acid Metabolism - glycine, serine and threonine; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; EC 2.6.1.51; EC 2.6.1.44
Cellular Component: mitochondrial matrix; mitochondrion; peroxisomal matrix; peroxisome
Molecular Function: alanine-glyoxylate transaminase activity; amino acid binding; catalytic activity; protein homodimerization activity; protein self-association; pyridoxal phosphate binding; receptor binding; serine-pyruvate transaminase activity; transaminase activity
Biological Process: glycine biosynthetic process, by transamination of glyoxylate; glyoxylate catabolic process; glyoxylate metabolic process; L-alanine catabolic process; L-cysteine catabolic process; Notch signaling pathway; oxalic acid secretion; proteasomal protein catabolic process; pyruvate biosynthetic process; response to cAMP; response to glucocorticoid stimulus

Product Notes
The Agxt agxt (Catalog #AAA421947) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Goat anti-AGXT (rat) Antibody reacts with Expected from sequence similarity: Rat, Dog and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's AGXT can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Peptide ELISA (EIA). Peptide ELISA: Antibody detection limit dilution 1: 8000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Agxt agxt for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: DKAKSKVYSR KTK. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "AGXT, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
