Related Product Information for IL36B active protein
IL36B, also known as Interleukin 36 beta and IL1F8, is a cytokine belonging to the IL-1 family. It is actively secreted and is found to form a cytokine gene cluster on chromosome 2 with eight other IL1 cytokines. IL36B signals through the IL1Rrp2/IL-36R receptor on dendritic cells which then activates NFkB and MAPK signalling pathways to create a pro-inflammatory response. It stimulates the production of mature adipocytes, and IL6 and IL8 synovial fibroblasts. It also induces expression of some antimicrobial peptides and matrix metalloproteases. It is highly expressed in psoriatic plaques, as part of the IL36 signalling system is found in many epithelial barriers.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the interleukin 1 cytokine family. Protein structure modeling indicated that this cytokine may contain a 12-stranded beta-trefoil structure that is conserved between IL1A (IL-A alpha) and IL1B (IL-1 beta). This gene and eight other interleukin 1 family genes form a cytokine gene cluster on chromosome 2. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

IL36B: Stimulates production of interleukin-6 and interleukin-8 in synovial fibrobasts, articular chondrocytes and mature adipocytes. Induces expression of a number of antimicrobial peptides including beta-defensins 4 and 103 as well as a number of matrix metalloproteases. Belongs to the IL-1 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The IL36B il36b (Catalog #AAA4159856) is an Active Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IL36B, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
