NCBI Description

Acyl-CoA:lysophosphatidylglycerol (LPG) acyltransferase catalyzes the reacylation of LPG to phosphatidylglycerol, a membrane phospholipid that is an important precursor for the synthesis of cardiolipin (Yang et al., 2004 [PubMed 15485873]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]

Uniprot Description

LPGAT1: Lysophoshatidylglycerol (LPG) specific acyltransferase that recognizes various acyl-CoAs and LPGs as substrates but demonstrates a clear preference for long chain saturated fatty acyl-CoAs and oleoyl-CoA as acyl donors. Prefers oleoyl-LPG over palmitoyl-LPG as an acyl receptor and oleoyl-CoA over lauroyl-CoA as an acyl donor. Belongs to the 1-acyl-sn-glycerol-3-phosphate acyltransferase family.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; EC 2.3.1.-; Transferase; Membrane protein, multi-pass

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1q32

Cellular Component: endoplasmic reticulum membrane; membrane; cytoplasm; integral to membrane

Molecular Function: transferase activity, transferring acyl groups

Biological Process: phospholipid metabolic process; glycerophospholipid biosynthetic process

Product Notes

The LPGAT1 lpgat1 (Catalog #AAA415577) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-LPGAT1 Antibody reacts with Human. Predicted: Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's LPGAT1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). ELISA titer: 1:20,000-1:80,000 Western blot analysis: 1:500-1:1,000 Immunohistochemistry: 1:100-1:500 Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the LPGAT1 lpgat1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "LPGAT1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
