Bovine Lipoprotein A ELISA Kit | LP-A elisa kit

Bovine Lipoprotein A ELISA Kit

Gene Names
LPA; LP; AK38; APOA
Reactivity
Bovine
Synonyms
Lipoprotein A; Bovine Lipoprotein A ELISA Kit; LP-A elisa kit
Ordering
For Research Use Only!
Reactivity
Bovine
Specificity
No significant cross-reactivity or interference between Bovine LP-A and analogues was observed.
Samples
Serum, Plasma, Tissue Homogenate, Feces, Urine and Body Fluids
Assay Type
Sandwich
Detection Range
15.6 ug/ml - 500 ug/ml.
Sensitivity
2.0 ug/ml.
Intended Uses
This Quantitative Sandwich ELISA kit is only for in vitro research use only, not for drug, household, therapeutic applications! It is intended to be determinated LP-A concentrations in Bovine serum, plasma and other body fluids. Using Purified Bovine LP-A antibody to coat Microelisa Stripplate wells to make solid-phase antibody, then add LP-A and LP-A antibody which has been labeled with HRP to wells, then the reactants become antibody-antigen-antibody-enzyme complex, after washing completely, add TMB substrate solution, TMB substrate becomes blue color under HRP enzyme-catalyzed, reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm. The concentration of LP-A in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.
Intra-assay Precision
Intra-assay CV (%) is less than 15%.
Inter-assay Precision
Inter-assay CV (%) is less than 15%. [CV(%) = SD/mean ×100]
Preparation and Storage
Store all reagents at 2-8 degree C

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a serine proteinase that inhibits the activity of tissue-type plasminogen activator I. The encoded protein constitutes a substantial portion of lipoprotein(a) and is proteolytically cleaved, resulting in fragments that attach to atherosclerotic lesions and promote thrombogenesis. Elevated plasma levels of this protein are linked to atherosclerosis. Depending on the individual, the encoded protein contains 2-43 copies of kringle-type domains. The allele represented here contains 15 copies of the kringle-type repeats and corresponds to that found in the reference genome sequence. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2009]

Uniprot Description

LPA: Apo(a) is the main constituent of lipoprotein(a) (Lp(a)). It has serine proteinase activity and is able of autoproteolysis. Inhibits tissue-type plasminogen activator 1. Lp(a) may be a ligand for megalin/Gp 330. Belongs to the peptidase S1 family. Plasminogen subfamily.

Protein type: Inhibitor; Protease; EC 3.4.21.-

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 6q26

Cellular Component: extracellular region

Molecular Function: heparin binding; protein binding; fibronectin binding; serine-type endopeptidase activity; endopeptidase inhibitor activity; apolipoprotein binding

Biological Process: receptor-mediated endocytosis; blood circulation; lipoprotein metabolic process; lipid metabolic process; proteolysis; lipid transport

Product Notes

The Bovine LP-A lpa (Catalog #AAA039265) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA039265 ELISA Kit recognizes Bovine LP-A. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Lipoprotein A, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
