Related Product Information for anti-Herpes Simplex Virus I and II antibody
Herpes simplex virus I and II (HSV-I and HSV-II) are two strains of the Herpes virus family, Herpesviridae, which cause infections in humans. After an initial, or primary, infection, HSV establishes latency, during which the virus is present in the cell bodies of nerves which innervate the area of original outbreak. Herpes symptoms may periodically recur in the form of outbreaks of herpetic sores near the site of original infection. HSV-I usually infects the non-genital mucosal surfaces, and HSV-II typically involves the genitalia. Either type may affect the skin or internal organs (typically brain, lung, liver, adrenal gland, or GI tract) of immunocompromised individuals.
This antibody reacts with HSV-I and HSV-II Herpes viruses. There may be cross-reactivity with varicella zoster virus at higher concentrations. Cross-reactivity with CMV or Epstein-Barr virus is not seen with this antibody.

The Herpes Simplex Virus I and II reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Herpes Simplex Virus I and II can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry. IHC of HSV on an FFPE Infected Tissue. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Herpes Simplex Virus I and II for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Herpes Simplex Virus I and II, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
