NCBI Description

This gene encodes a regulatory beta subunit of the voltage-dependent calcium channel. Beta subunits are composed of five domains, which contribute to the regulation of surface expression and gating of calcium channels and may also play a role in the regulation of transcription factors and calcium transport. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011]

Uniprot Description

CACNB3: The beta subunit of voltage-dependent calcium channels contributes to the function of the calcium channel by increasing peak calcium current, shifting the voltage dependencies of activation and inactivation, modulating G protein inhibition and controlling the alpha-1 subunit membrane targeting. Belongs to the calcium channel beta subunit family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Channel, calcium

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 12q13

Cellular Component: membrane; apical plasma membrane; voltage-gated calcium channel complex; cytosol

Molecular Function: voltage-gated calcium channel activity; high voltage-gated calcium channel activity; protein kinase binding

Product Notes

The CACNB3 cacnb3 (Catalog #AAA3012336) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CACNB3 Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CACNB3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). WB: 1:500 IHC: 1:50-1:200 FC/FACS: 1:50-1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CACNB3 cacnb3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CACNB3, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
