Related Product Information for anti-S41 antibody
alpha-crystallins consist of three gene products, alphaA, alphaB and alphaC-crystallin, which are members of the small heat shock protein family (HSP 20). They are induced by heat shock, and act as molecular chaperones by holding denatured proteins in large soluble aggregates. However, unlike other molecular chaperones, alpha-crystallins do not renature these proteins. Expression of alphaA-crystallin is restricted to the lens. Defects in this gene cause autosomal dominant congenital cataracts (ADCC). The human alphaB-crystallin gene product is expressed in many tissues, including lens, heart and skeletal muscle. Elevated expression of alphaB-crystallin is associated with many neurological diseases, and a missense mutation in this gene has co-segregated in a family with a Desmin-related myopathy.

Uniprot Description

CRYAB: a major structural protein of the eye lens. A member of the small heat shock protein (sHSP also known as the HSP20) family. Alpha-B is expressed in the lens as well as other tissues. Elevated expression of alpha-B crystallin occurs in many neurological diseases; a missense mutation cosegregated in a family with a desmin-related myopathy.

Product Notes

The S41 cryab (Catalog #AAA3001595) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Crystallin-alphaB (S41) Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Crystallin-alphaB can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC). IHC: 1:50-1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the S41 cryab for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Crystallin-alphaB, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
