Human TGF-beta receptor type-2 ELISA Kit
Principle of the Assay: The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to TGFR-2. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated polyclonal antibody preparation specific for TGFR-2 and Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. Then a TMB substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain TGFR-2, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The concentration of TGFR-2 in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the Ser/Thr protein kinase family and the TGFB receptor subfamily. The encoded protein is a transmembrane protein that has a protein kinase domain, forms a heterodimeric complex with another receptor protein, and binds TGF-beta. This receptor/ligand complex phosphorylates proteins, which then enter the nucleus and regulate the transcription of a subset of genes related to cell proliferation. Mutations in this gene have been associated with Marfan Syndrome, Loeys-Deitz Aortic Aneurysm Syndrome, and the development of various types of tumors. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been characterized. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description

Product Notes
The Human TGFBR2 tgfbr2 (Catalog #AAA2885845) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2885845 ELISA Kit recognizes Human TGFBR2. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TGF-beta receptor type-2, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
