Related Product Information for KCNH2 elisa kit
Description: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate KCNH2 in samples. An antibody specific for KCNH2 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any KCNH2 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for KCNH2 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of KCNH2 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
Overview: 11.1 potassium ion channel. This ion channel (sometimes simply denoted as 'hERG') is best known for its contribution to the electrical activity of the heart that coordinates the heart's beating (i.e., the hERG channel mediates the repolarizing IKr current in the cardiac action potential). When this channel's ability to conduct electrical current across the cell membrane is inhibited or compromised, either by application of drugs or by rare mutations in some families, it can result in a potentially fatal disorder called long QT syndrome; a number of clinically successful drugs in the market have had the tendency to inhibit hERG, and create a concomitant risk of sudden death, as an unwanted side effect, which has made hERG inhibition an important antitarget which must be avoided during drug development

Product Notes

The Mouse KCNH2 kcnh2 (Catalog #AAA287576) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA287576 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse KCNH2. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Potassium voltage-gated channel subfamily H member 2 (KCNH2), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
