Related Product Information for FABP6 elisa kit
Intended Uses: This ELISA kit applies to the in vitro quantitative determination of Chicken alpha1-AGP concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses the Sandwich-ELISA principle. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Chicken alpha1-AGP. Standards or samples are added to the micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Chicken alpha1-AGP and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate are added successively to each micro plate well and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Chicken alpha1-AGP, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of stop solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of Chicken alpha1-AGP. You can calculate the concentration of Chicken alpha1-AGP in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes the ileal fatty acid binding protein. Fatty acid binding proteins are a family of small, highly conserved, cytoplasmic proteins that bind long-chain fatty acids and other hydrophobic ligands. FABP6 and FABP1 (the liver fatty acid binding protein) are also able to bind bile acids. It is thought that FABPs roles include fatty acid uptake, transport, and metabolism. Transcript variants generated by alternate transcription promoters and/or alternate splicing have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

FABP6: Ileal protein which stimulates gastric acid and pepsinogen secretion. Seems to be able to bind to bile salts and bilirubins. Isoform 2 is essential for the survival of colon cancer cells to bile acid-induced apoptosis. Belongs to the calycin superfamily. Fatty-acid binding protein (FABP) family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative promoter.

Product Notes

The Chicken FABP6 fabp6 (Catalog #AAA2513084) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2513084 ELISA Kit recognizes Chicken FABP6. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "FABP6, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
