Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.

Mouse anti Feline immunodeficiency virus p24 antibody, clone NM3-6A9 recognizes feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) p24 gag capsid protein, derived from the p50 GAG polyprotein. The p24 capsid protein forms the conical viral core encapsulating the genomic RNA-nucleocapsid complex and is involved in viral packaging and subsequent release from infected cells. FIV is a lentivirus infecting many domestic and wild cat species, resulting in a progressive immunodeficiency disease bearing a number of parallels with HIV-1 infection in man (Sparger et al. 1989). This antibody does not recognise Feline Leukemia Virus, Feline Herpes Virus type 1, Feline Coronavirus or Feline Calicivirus. Mouse anti feline immunodeficiency virus p24, clone NM3-6A9 recognizes a different epitope to clone PAK3-2C1
