Rat Galactose-1-Phosphate Uridylyltransferase (GALT) Antibody Pair Kit | GALT antibody pair kit
Rat Galactose-1-Phosphate Uridylyltransferase (GALT) Antibody Pair Kit (with Standard)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is the second enzyme in the Leloir pathway, the metabolic pathway for D-galactose catabolism. It catalyzes the conversion of galactose-1-phosphate and uridine diphosphate-glucose to glucose-1-phosphate and uridine diphosphate galactose. Deficiency of this enzyme causes the genetic metabolic disorder galactosemia. Mice lacking this protein accumulate high levels of galactose and galactose-1 phosphate but are viable and fertile. This protein is negatively regulated through signaling by the polypeptide hormone prolactin, specifically via the short isoform of the prolactin receptor and the transcription factor Forkhead box O3. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2014]
Uniprot Description
Plays an important role in galactose metabolism.

Product Notes
The Rat GALT galt (Catalog #AAA2103968) is an Antibody Pair Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2103968 Antibody Pair Kit recognizes Rat GALT. AAA Biotech's Galactose-1-Phosphate Uridylyltransferase (GALT) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Chemiluminescence Immunoassays (CLIA), ELISPOT, Luminex. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GALT galt for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Galactose-1-Phosphate Uridylyltransferase (GALT), Antibody Pair Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
