Related Product Information for IL12 active protein
IL12b/IL12a, also known as interleukin 12 (subunit beta/alpha), is a cytokine that can act as a growth factor for activated T and NK cells, enhance the lytic activity of NK/lymphokine-activated killer cells, and stimulate the production of IFN-gamma by resting PBMC. It is a key mediator of cellular-immunity and induces the differentiation of Th1 cells from precursor T helper cells. As it is associated with IL23A to form the IL-23 interleukin, it induces autoimmune inflammation and is responsible for autoimmune inflammatory diseases and may be important for tumorigenesis. Recombinant mouse IL12b/IL12a protein, fused to His-tag at C-terminus, was expressed in insect cell and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes the beta subunit p40 of the Interleukin 12 (IL-12) family of cytokines. Members of the IL-12 family form heterodimers consisting of heavy and light subunits linked by disulfide bonds. The product of this gene, p40, is a subunit of interleukins IL-12 and IL-23. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2014]

Uniprot Description

Cytokine that can act as a growth factor for activated T and NK cells, enhance the lytic activity of NK/lymphokine-activated killer cells, and stimulate the production of IFN-gamma by resting PBMC.

Product Notes

The IL12 il12b (Catalog #AAA206788) is an Active Protein produced from Baculovirus and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The tag for this protein is His-tag. AAA Biotech's IL12 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IL12 il12b for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: IL12B (p40) MWELEKDVYV VEVDWTPDAP GETVNLTCDT PEEDDITWTS DQRHGVIGSG KTLTITVKEF LDAGQYTCHK GGETLSHSHL LLHKKENGIW STEILKNFKN KTFLKCEAPN YSGRFTCSWL VQRNMDLKFN IKSSSSSPDS RAVTCGMASL SAEKVTLDQR DYEKYSVSCQ EDVTCPTAEE TLPIELALEA RQQNKYENYS TSFFIRDIIK PDPPKNLQMK PLKNSQVEVS WEYPDSWSTP HSYFSLKFFV RIQRKKEKMK ETEEGCNQKG AFLVEKTSTE VQCKGGNVCV QAQDRYYNSS CSKWACVPCR VRS IL12A (p35) RVIPVSGPAR CLSQSRNLLK TTDDMVKTAR EKLKHYSCTA EDIDHEDITR DQTSTLKTCL PLELHKNESC LATRETSSTT RGSCLPPQKT SLMMTLCLGS IYEDLKMYQT EFQAINAALQ NHNHQQIILD KGMLVAIDEL MQSLNHNGET LRQKPPVGEA DPYRVKMKLC ILLHAFSTRV VTINRVMGYL SSAHHHHHH. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IL12, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
