Related Product Information for EMG1 recombinant protein
EMG1 nucleolar protein homolog, also known as EMG1, is a 244 amino acid protein that is thought to be involved in ribosome biogenesis. Localized to the nucleolus, EMG1 participates in pre-18S rRNA processing and may play an important role in the assembly of the small ribosomal subunit, possibly controlling methylation during ribosome synthesis. A mutation in this gene has been associated with Bowen-Conradi syndrome. Recombinant human EMG1 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E Coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes an essential, conserved eukaryotic protein that methylates pseudouridine in 18S rRNA. The related protein in yeast is a component of the small subunit processome and is essential for biogenesis of the ribosomal 40S subunit. A mutation in this gene has been associated with Bowen-Conradi syndrome. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2016]

Uniprot Description

S-adenosyl-L-methionine-dependent pseudouridine N1-methyltransferase that methylates pseudouridine at position 1248 (Psi1248) in 18S rRNA. Involved the biosynthesis of the hypermodified N1-methyl-N3-(3-amino-3-carboxypropyl) pseudouridine (m1acp3-Psi) conserved in eukaryotic 18S rRNA. Is not able to methylate uridine at this position (PubMed:20047967). Has also an essential role in 40S ribosomal subunit biogenesis independent on its methyltransferase activity, facilitating the incorporation of ribosomal protein S19 during the formation of pre-ribosomes ().

Product Notes

The EMG1 emg1 (Catalog #AAA204728) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The tag for this protein is His-tag. AAA Biotech's EMG1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the EMG1 emg1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MGSSHHHHHH SSGLVPRGSH MGSMAAPSDG FKPRERSGGE QAQDWDALPP KRPRLGAGNK IGGRRLIVVL EGASLETVKV GKTYELLNCD KHKSILLKNG RDPGEARPDI THQSLLMLMD SPLNRAGLLQ VYIHTQKNVL IEVNPQTRIP RTFDRFCGLM VQLLHKLSVR AADGPQKLLK VIKNPVSDHF PVGCMKVGTS FSIPVVSDVR ELVPSSDPIV FVVGAFAHGK VSVEYTEKMV SISNYPLSAA LTCAKLTTAF EEVWGVI. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "EMG1, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
