Related Product Information for LGALS2 recombinant protein
LGALS2, also known as galectin2, is a soluble beta-galactoside binding lectin that modulates cell-to-cell adhesion and cell-to-extracellular matrix interactions and play a role in tumor progression, pre-mRNA splicing and apoptosis. This protein induces apoptosis in activated T cells and binds to the cytokine lymphotoxin-alpha (LTA) with possible implications in risk of myocardial infarction. Recombinant human Galectin 2 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E Coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a soluble beta-galactoside binding lectin. The encoded protein is found as a homodimer and can bind to lymphotoxin-alpha. A single nucleotide polymorphism in an intron of this gene can alter the transcriptional level of the protein, with a resultant increased risk of myocardial infarction. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

This protein binds beta-galactoside. Its physiological function is not yet known.

Product Notes

The LGALS2 lgals2 (Catalog #AAA203677) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The tag for this protein is His-tag. AAA Biotech's LGALS2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the LGALS2 lgals2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MGSSHHHHHH SSGLVPRGSH MTGELEVKNM DMKPGSTLKI TGSIADGTDG FVINLGQGTD KLNLHFNPRF SESTIVCNSL DGSNWGQEQR EDHLCFSPGS EVKFTVTFES DKFKVKLPDG HELTFPNRLG HSHLSYLSVR GGFNMSSFKL KE. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "LGALS2, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
