Preparation and Storage
Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Store at 2-8 degree C for one month. Aliquot and store at -80 degree C for 12 months.
Stability Test: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate of the targetprotein. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37 degree C for 48h, and no obvious degradation andprecipitation were observed. (Referring from China Biological Products Standard, which was calculated by the Arrhenius equation.) The loss of this protein is lessthan 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a membrane-bound member of the alpha carbonic anhydrase family of enzymes that catalyze the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide to bicarbonate. These proteins participate in a variety of biological processes, including respiration, calcification, acid-base balance, bone resorption, and the formation of aqueous humor, cerebrospinal fluid, saliva, and gastric acid. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2015]

Uniprot Description

CA12: Reversible hydration of carbon dioxide. Homodimer. Highly expressed in colon, kidney, prostate, intestine and activated lymphocytes. Expressed at much higher levels in the renal cell cancers than in surrounding normal kidney tissue. Moderately expressed in pancreas, ovary and testis. Inhibited by coumarins, saccharin, sulfonamide derivatives such as acetazolamide (AZA), benzenesulfonamide and derivatives (4-carboxyethylbenzene-sulfonamide, 4- carboxyethylbenzene-sulfonamide ethyl ester, 4-(acetyl-2- aminoethyl)benzene-sulfonamide, 4-aminoethylbenzene-sulfonamide) and Foscarnet (phosphonoformate trisodium salt). Belongs to the alpha-carbonic anhydrase family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Lyase; EC 4.2.1.1; Energy Metabolism - nitrogen

Product Notes

The CA12 ca12 (Catalog #AAA2011692) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's Carbonic Anhydrase XII (CA12) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunoprecipitation (IP). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CA12 ca12 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: The target protein is fused with N-terminal His-Tag, its sequence is listed below. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Carbonic Anhydrase XII (CA12), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
