Preparation and Storage
The stability of kit is determined by the loss rate of activity. The loss rate of this kit is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
To minimize extra influence on the performance, operation procedures and lab conditions, especially room temperature, air humidity, incubator temperature should be strictly controlled. It is also strongly suggested that the whole assay is performed by the same operator from the beginning to the end.

Related Product Information for IGF2BP1 clia kit
The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antigen. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated secondary antibody. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. Then the mixture of substrate A and B is added to generate glow light emission kinetics. Upon plate development, the intensity of the emitted light is proportional to the Insulin Like Growth Factor 2 mRNA Binding Protein 1 (IGF2BP1) level in the sample or standard.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the insulin-like growth factor 2 mRNA-binding protein family. The protein encoded by this gene contains four K homology domains and two RNA recognition motifs. It functions by binding to the mRNAs of certain genes, including insulin-like growth factor 2, beta-actin and beta-transducin repeat-containing protein, and regulating their translation. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, May 2009]

Uniprot Description

IGF2BP1: a conserved trans-acting factor that can control translation of specific mRNAs in vivo. Contains four K homology (KH) domains and two RNA recognition motifs. It functions by binding to the 5' UTR of the target mRNAs and repressing translation. Target mRNAs include those encoding beta-actin and insulin-like growth factor 2 (IGF2). Tyrosine phosphorylation apparently abolishes translational repression of actin expression by decreasing its binding beta-actin mRNA. May have a role in progression of ovarian cancer. Contains nuclear export signals within the RNA-binding KH2 and KH4 domains. Aberrant expression may interfere with c-myc regulation.

Product Notes

The IGF2BP1 igf2bp1 (Catalog #AAA2000469) is a CLIA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Insulin Like Growth Factor 2 mRNA Binding Protein 1 (IGF2BP1), CLIA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
