Description: Rabbit IgG polyclonal antibody for Mitotic spindle assembly checkpoint protein MAD1(MAD1L1) detection. Tested with WB, IHC-P in Human;Mouse;Rat

Background: Mitotic spindle assembly checkpoint protein MAD1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the MAD1L1 gene. It is mapped to 7p22.3. MAD1L1 is a component of the mitotic spindle-assembly checkpoint that prevents the onset of anaphase until all chromosome are properly aligned at the metaphase plate. MAD1L1 can function as a homodimer. It localizes to the centrosome during metaphase and to the spindle midzone and the midbody during anaphase and telophase. MAD1L1 may also play a role in cell cycle control and tumor suppression.

NCBI Description

MAD1L1 is a component of the mitotic spindle-assembly checkpoint that prevents the onset of anaphase until all chromosome are properly aligned at the metaphase plate. MAD1L1 functions as a homodimer and interacts with MAD2L1. MAD1L1 may play a role in cell cycle control and tumor suppression. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2015]

Uniprot Description

MAD1L1: a component of the spindle-assembly checkpoint that prevents the onset of anaphase until all chromosomes are properly aligned at the metaphase plate. Has a role in the correct positioning of the septum. Required for anchoring MAD2L1 to the nuclear periphery. Expressed weakly at G0/G1 and highly at late S and G2/M phase. Induced by p53. Becomes hyperphosphorylated in late S through M phases or after mitotic spindle damage. Two alternatively spliced isoforms have been described. Defects in MAD1L1 are involved in the development and/or progression of various types of cancer.

Product Notes

The MAD1 mad1l1 (Catalog #AAA177892) is an Antibody and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-MAD1 Antibody reacts with Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's MAD1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin. Western Blot Concentration: 0.1-0.5ug/ml Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin Concentration: 0.5-1ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MAD1 mad1l1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MAD1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
