Related Product Information for CFH elisa kit
Intended Uses: This sandwich kit is for the accurate quantitative detection of human Complement Factor H (also known as CFH) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, cell lysates, tissue homogenates.
Principles of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with human CFH antibody. CFH present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated human CFH Antibody is added and binds to CFH in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated CFH antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of human CFH. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.
NCBI Description
This gene is a member of the Regulator of Complement Activation (RCA) gene cluster and encodes a protein with twenty short consensus repeat (SCR) domains. This protein is secreted into the bloodstream and has an essential role in the regulation of complement activation, restricting this innate defense mechanism to microbial infections. Mutations in this gene have been associated with hemolytic-uremic syndrome (HUS) and chronic hypocomplementemic nephropathy. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011]
Uniprot Description
Factor H functions as a cofactor in the inactivation of C3b by factor I and also increases the rate of dissociation of the C3bBb complex (C3 convertase) and the (C3b)NBB complex (C5 convertase) in the alternative complement pathway.CautionAccording to a report, Asn-217 is not glycosylated (PubMed:17591618). Another study observed glycosylation at this position (PubMed:19139490).
Product Notes
The Human CFH cfh (Catalog #
AAA162765) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA162765 ELISA Kit recognizes Human CFH.
It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of
"complement factor H, CFH, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of
the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always
suggest centrifuging these vials
to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to
opening. Please be advised that
certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an
additional dry ice fee may also be
required.
