NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is involved in guidance of olfactory axon projections and migration of luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone neurons. Defects in this gene are a cause of idiopathic hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (IHH). Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, May 2010]

Uniprot Description

NSMF: Couples NMDA receptor signaling to the nucleus. Influences outgrowth of olfactory axons and migration of LHRH neurons. Defects in NELF may be associated with idiopathic hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (IHH). IHH is defined as a deficiency of the pituitary secretion of follicle-stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone, which results in the impairment of pubertal maturation and of reproductive function. 6 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The NELF nsmf (Catalog #AAA153850) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's NELF can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Blocking (BL). NELFpeptide is used for blocking the activity of NELF antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NELF nsmf for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "NELF, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
