Related Product Information for anti-MCP-3 antibody
Introduction: Chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 7 (CCL7) is a small cytokine known as a chemokine that was previously called monocyte-specific chemokine 3 (MCP3). Due to CCL7 possessing two adjacent N-terminal cysteine residues in its mature protein, it is classified among the subfamily of chemokines known as CC chemokines. CCL7 specifically attracts monocytes, and regulates macrophagefunction. It is produced by certain tumor celllines and by macrophages. This chemokine is located on chromosome 17 in humans, in a large cluster containing many other CC chemokines and is most closely related to CCL2(previously called MCP1).

NCBI Description

This gene encodes monocyte chemotactic protein 3, a secreted chemokine which attracts macrophages during inflammation and metastasis. It is a member of the C-C subfamily of chemokines which are characterized by having two adjacent cysteine residues. The protein is an in vivo substrate of matrix metalloproteinase 2, an enzyme which degrades components of the extracellular matrix. This gene is part of a cluster of C-C chemokine family members on chromosome 17q. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

CCL7: Chemotactic factor that attracts monocytes and eosinophils, but not neutrophils. Augments monocyte anti-tumor activity. Also induces the release of gelatinase B. This protein can bind heparin. Binds to CCR1, CCR2 and CCR3. Belongs to the intercrine beta (chemokine CC) family.

Protein type: Secreted, signal peptide; Secreted; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 17q11.2-q12

Cellular Component: extracellular space; extracellular region

Molecular Function: heparin binding; CCR1 chemokine receptor binding; chemokine activity; CCR2 chemokine receptor binding

Biological Process: cellular calcium ion homeostasis; regulation of cell shape; monocyte chemotaxis; cell-cell signaling; eosinophil chemotaxis; response to gamma radiation; immune response; cytoskeleton organization and biogenesis; signal transduction; chemotaxis; inflammatory response; positive regulation of cell migration

Product Notes

The MCP-3 ccl7 (Catalog #AAA140021) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's Macrophage/Monocyte Chemotactic Protein-3/MARC can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunoprecipitation (IP). Direct ELISA, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation. In direct ELISA, using alkaline phosphatase goat anti-mouse Ig (Jackson Laboratories) 1:20,000 dilution will give 0.2 O.D. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MCP-3 ccl7 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Macrophage/Monocyte Chemotactic Protein-3/MARC, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
