Function: Part of the ABC transporter complex FbpABC (TC 3.A.1.10.1) involved in Fe3+ ions import. Probably responsible for the translocation of the substrate across the membrane

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the binding-protein-dependent transport system permease family. FbpB subfamily.Contains 1 ABC transmembrane type-1 domain.
Caution: Could be the product of a pseudogene. The original protein is truncated by an IS1 element which is inserted right before residue 1. What was the original N-terminal of this protein is not known. FbpA was presumably also deleted by this IS1 event.
Sequence caution: The sequence BAA77931.2 differs from that shown. Reason: Erroneous initiation.
