5-HT (Serotonin) 7 Antibody | anti-5HT7 R antibody
5-HT (Serotonin) 7 Receptor Antibody, Rabbit
The antibody produces 4+ (maximum) labeling of 5-HT7 receptor at dilutions of 1/100 - 1/300 using biotin-avidin/HRP technique in rat cortex and hippocampus. Optimal dilution will vary depending upon fixation, labeling technique and/or detection system; therefore, a dilution series is recommended. The antibody was characterized by immunohistochemistry. Immunohistochemical staining of rat brain correlates well with Northern blot analysis, in situ hybridization and receptor autoradiography studies. Immunolabeling is completely abolished by preadsorption with synthetic rat 5-HT7 receptor (8-23). BlastP database sequence homology searches indicate that the amino acid sequence is unique to rat 5-HT7A, 5-HT7B and 5-HT7C. There is also significant sequence overlap with the mouse and human forms.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Uniprot Description
5-HT(7): This is one of the several different receptors for 5- hydroxytryptamine (serotonin), a biogenic hormone that functions as a neurotransmitter, a hormone, and a mitogen. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins that stimulate adenylate cyclase. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: GPCR, family 1; Membrane protein, integral; Membrane protein, multi-pass; Receptor, GPCR
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 10q21-q24
Cellular Component: dendrite; integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane
Molecular Function: neurotransmitter receptor activity
Biological Process: blood circulation; G-protein signaling, coupled to cyclic nucleotide second messenger; serotonin receptor, adenylate cyclase activating pathway

The 5-HT (Serotonin) 7 Receptor Antibody, Rabbit reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's 5-HT (Serotonin) 7 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the 5HT7 R htr7 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "5-HT (Serotonin) 7, Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
