SCS-beta: a mitochondrial enzyme that catalyzes the phosphorylation of NTP, where N = adenosine or guanosine, in the tricarboxylic acid cycle. Catalyzes the following: ATP + succinate + CoA = ADP + succinyl-CoA + phosphate. Two splice variant isoforms have been described.
