Sheep
Reactivity
Mammals (Expected from Sequence), Rabbit
Clonality
Polyclonal
Isotype
IgG
Specificity
This item is specific for Tyrosine hydroxylase (TH). Tyrosine hydroxylase catalyses the rate-limiting step in the biosynthetic pathway of the catecholamines dopamine (DA), norepinephrine, and epinephrine. The enzyme exists as a tetramer, with each subunit composed of an N-terminal regulatory domain and a C-terminal catalytic domain.
Tyrosine hydroxylase is regularly used as a marker for dopaminergic neurons, which is particularly relevant for research into Parkinson's disease.

0.01% Bovine Serum Albumin
50% Glycerol
Immunogen
Rat Tyrosine hydroxylase purified from pheochromocytoma.
Buffer Solution
Antiserum Preparation
Antisera to tyrosine hydroxylase were raised by repeated immunisations of sheep with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG prepared by immunoaffinity chromatography.
Target Species
Rat
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C or at -20 degree C if preferred. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life: 18 months from date of despatch.

NCBI Description

catalyzes the rate limiting step in catecholamine biosynthesis; may be involved in response to hypoxia [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

TH: an enzyme involved in the conversion of phenylalanine to dopamine. As the rate-limiting enzyme in the synthesis of catecholamines, tyrosine hydroxylase has a key role in the physiology of adrenergic neurons. Four splice variant isoforms have been described.

Product Notes

The Th th (Catalog #AAA223866) is an Antibody produced from Sheep and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The SHEEP ANTI RAT TYROSINE HYDROXYLASE reacts with Mammals (Expected from Sequence), Rabbit and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TYROSINE HYDROXYLASE can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistology Frozen, Immunofluorescence (IF), Western Blot (WB). Western Blot: This item detects a band of approximately 60kDa in rat caudate cell lysates. Immunohistology - Frozen: Maximum Dilution: 1/1000 Immunofluorescence: Maximum Dilution: 1/1000 Western Blotting: Maximum Dilution: 1/1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Th th for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TYROSINE HYDROXYLASE, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
